“The Idealised City” delves into the essence of our shared experiences in the post-globalization era, where the distinction between various urban landscapes blurs, revealing a ubiquitous identity. Born from Minelli’s extensive travels and inspired by the similar aesthetics of globalization seen from his homeland in Northern Italy to Dubai, the intervention critiques the uniform architecture and universal symbols that shape modern cities. Dubai, with its amalgamation of skyscrapers, malls, and multicultural offerings, exemplifies this new global self-perception that accommodates a diverse populace while maintaining a homogeneous aesthetic.
